Audit only
An audit is only worth the independence behind it. That's why we do audit work and nothing else. We never prepare the books we sign off on.

The Vigilant principle

§ 02  Corporate Tax

Audited accounts are no longer optional for many businesses.

Under Ministerial Decision No. 82 of 2023, these businesses must keep audited financial statements. We audit with your Corporate Tax return in mind.

AED 50M

Revenue threshold in a tax period. Above it, audited financial statements are required.

0%

Rate for Qualifying Free Zone Persons, who need audited statements whatever their revenue.

9 mo.

After year end, the return falls due. Your audit should be signed well before then.

§ 03  Method

Five stages, no surprises at the end.

Read the full approach
  1. i.

    Scope & engagement

We start with a short call about your business, your deadline and who will rely on the report. You then receive a fixed-fee proposal and an engagement letter that sets out responsibilities.

  2. ii.

    Planning & risk assessment

We study your industry, systems and prior-year issues, set materiality and pick the areas that need the most testing.

  3. iii.

    Fieldwork

We send a clear request list, then carry out the testing on-site or remotely: confirmations, vouching, analytics and stock attendance where needed.

  4. iv.

    Findings & clearance

Nothing in our report will surprise you. We discuss proposed adjustments and control points with management before anything is finalised.

  5. v.

    Report & management letter

You receive the signed auditor's report and financial statements, plus a management letter with practical recommendations.

§ 04  Sectors

Each sector has its own risky balances.

A restaurant's risks are not a distributor's, and a clinic's are not a developer's. We plan each audit around the balances that matter most in your sector.

  • Trading & DistributionStock, margin, credit control and multi-currency purchasing.
  • Real Estate & ConstructionContract revenue, retentions, project costing and escrow.
  • Hospitality & F&BFood cost, cash handling, outlet controls and concession revenue.
  • Healthcare & ClinicsInsurance receivables, claim rejections and practitioner payouts.
  • Technology & E-commercePlatform revenue, payment gateways, refunds and deferred income.
  • Logistics & FreightJob costing, fuel, fleet assets and customer recharges.
  • ManufacturingStandard costing, work in progress, overhead absorption and wastage.
  • Professional ServicesTime-based revenue, unbilled work and partner accounts.

Is an audit mandatory for my company?

In many cases, yes. UAE mainland companies are generally required to appoint an auditor, most free zones require audited financial statements for licence renewal, and Corporate Tax rules require them for businesses above AED 50m revenue and for Qualifying Free Zone Persons. Tell us your licence type and we will confirm what applies.

How long does an audit take?

It depends on the size of the business and how ready its records are. For an SME with closed books and organised supporting documents, fieldwork is often completed in one to three weeks. We give you a timetable before we start.

What will you need from us?

Usually your trial balance and general ledger, bank statements and reconciliations, sales and purchase invoices, key contracts, the fixed asset register, inventory records, and your trade licence and MOA. We send a tailored request list at the start of each engagement.

How are your fees set?

Fees depend on scope: revenue, transaction volume, number of entities and locations, and the state of your records. We quote a fixed fee in the engagement letter, so you know the cost before we begin.

Our books aren't up to date. Can you still help?

Professional independence rules stop us from preparing the accounts we audit. We'll tell you what needs to be completed before the audit, and you or your accountant can close the books.

Can you work remotely?

Yes. Most testing can be done on securely shared data. We attend in person for stock counts, cash counts and walkthroughs where they add value.

Next step

Tell us your deadline. We'll plan the audit backwards from it.
